On Wednesday, 28th May, we joined the global community in celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day at Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary School an inclusive school with students who are deaf, blind, mentally challenged, living with albinism, and hearing.
This year’s theme, “Together for a period-friendly world,”perfectly captures the spirit of our event. We believe that creating a world where every girl feels supported and confident during her period requires all of us working hand in hand. Teacher Adriana led a powerful session with the girls, teaching them about menstrual health and hygiene. She emphasized that there is no shame in menstruation and showed them how to manage their periods with confidence and comfort.
The session covered important topics including: What is menstruation? 1 .How to use sanitary pads correctly 2. Menstrual hygiene best practices 3. Managing menstrual pain 4. Dispelling common myths and misconceptions about periods
I’m grateful to @SOFTCARE TANZANIA@dOWEICARE for sponsoring this event and standing with us as we work together to build a period-friendly world—one where every girl, no matter her ability, has access to the knowledge and support she deserves.
